Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Signal Processing Engineer to join our team located in Colorado Springs, CO. This position creates prototypes for RF and SATCOM signal processing technologies.

As a Signal Processing Engineer with MTSI you will support our customer in design and implement Radio Frequency (RF) communication systems and leading a team of engineers and developers to support quick reaction capabilities. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • You will lead the development team and advise the Project Lead (PL) on project schedule, risks, and testing.
  • Interact with technical team members from multiple organizations in a team environment.
  • Maintain systems and documentation as needed for development and ongoing operations.


  • 5 years' experience in Signal Processing development.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks, drive projects to closure, assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment and incorporate them into coherent test strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to shift from one project to another in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentations.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., python, C/C++, bash).
  • Development in a Linux environment.
  • Experienced with Digital Signal Processing.
  • Skilled working with Docker containers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10 years' experience in Signal Processing development.
  • Strong desire to keep technical skills current and remain abreast of emerging technologies, new versions of existing solutions.
  • Familiarity with various SATCOM systems & RF signals.
  • Knowledge of IP network transport & protocols.
  • Development with GPU architectures and CUDA.
  • Experience remotely troubleshooting issues.
  • Deep understanding in the theory and implementation of SATCOM protocols, systems, and standards.
  • Able to read, write, and interpret complex documents.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies systems to include coding, testing, debugging, installing, and documenting.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related science, engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related science, engineering (Desired).

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret clearance to start.
  • Top Secret with SCI Eligibility, (Desired).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position will require overnight travel up to 10% of the time. Trip durations may range from overnight to several weeks.
