Responsibilities:

The Flight Test Engineering Intern will be embedded in the Emerging Technology (ET) Combined Test Force (CTF) at Edwards AFB, CA.  The ET CTF is responsible for small Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) flight test, as well as host to several up-and-coming commercial projects utilizing the Edwards AFB facility and airspace.  The intern will be paired with a mentor to assist with day-to-day tasking on projects that will benefit the Air Force Test Center customer, and will gain exposure to flight test of both Small UAS as well as manned aircraft from the vantage point of the control room.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a ABET Accredited program in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering working towards a Bachelors Degree.

Desired Experience:

  • General Aviation flight and/or maintenance experience
  • Completion of core aerospace coursework
  • Completion of flight-test coursework (if offered)
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with an emphasis on quality with minimal supervision                                                       

Security Clearance:
Ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
