The successful applicant will provide Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) flight test engineering and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) expertise for ground and flight test operations in support of the SOCOM Special Operations Armed Overwatch Program. Tasks will include coordination and execution of pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft's readiness for successful test execution, to include; issuance, and closure of documentation relating to work performed on the aircraft, clearance for flight (aircraft and hardware/software subsystems), safety coordination process, and coordination of aircraft modifications. The MBSE tasks will support flight test insight into system design, requirements development and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator and other segments and other system components. He/she will understand and articulate prime vendor efforts for development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing, perform analysis of integration results to assess system impacts. Position requires control and tracking of aircraft configuration, coordinating and staging of support equipment, developing and maintaining aircraft test schedules, and coordinating with other organizations for successful test execution.


• Understand vendor system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation.
• Understand vendor system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate.
• Understand vendor development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.
• Understand vendor review and analysis support to the test team development and conduct of formal testing.
• Understand vendor in project technical risk analysis and mitigation.
• Design and build test plans, ground and flight test cards, final reports, Test and Evaluation Master Plans
• Obtain knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and support equipment
• Obtain knowledge of avionics/mission systems, munitions systems and comm/radar systems
• Obtain knowledge of OSD and Air Force T&E policies


Required Skills:

• Bachelor degree (electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, or equivalent)
• Above average written and verbal communication
• Minimum of 3 years of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools and procedures
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related subject/field
• Must have experience with, and understanding of, object-oriented design
• Must have an understanding system interface requirements and requirements management
• Must have an understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
• Experience with UML, SysML, UPDM, and DoDAF modeling is a plus
• Familiar with MBSE/SysML/LML/UPDM/DoDAF modeling tools
• Familiar with systems engineering lifecycle
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft products including Office and SharePoint
• Must have an Active Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:

• DAWIA Level I and II certification (T&E)
• Data visualization tool experience
