Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a CAD Engineer/Analyst to join our team in Suitland, Maryland.  You will provide 3-D geometric computer-aided design (CAD) solid models and engineering designs of aerospace systems as part of Scientific and Technical Intelligence support to Intelligence Community customers.  Models will include: static and dynamic characteristics (e.g., external configuration, layout and location of internal subsystems, construction techniques, and materials descriptions). CAD models shall be completed in industry standard portable formats, ensuring that products conform to existing standards, as required by the Government.

Responsibilities:

As a CAD Engineer/Analyst with MTSI you will be responsible for providing 3-D geometric computer-aided design (CAD) solid models and engineering designs of aerospace systems as part of Scientific and Technical Intelligence support to Intelligence Community customers.  Models will include: static and dynamic characteristics (e.g., external configuration, layout and location of internal subsystems, construction techniques, and materials descriptions). CAD models shall be completed in industry standard portable formats, ensuring that products conform to existing standards, as required by the Government.  This position will be located in Suitland, MD.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Construct highly detailed 3-D geometric computer-aided design (CAD) models of multiple foreign systems.
  • Draft notional capabilities of system components.
  • Model components or entire vehicles.
  • Produce high confidence answers to problems of interest on aerospace systems.
  • Perform all-source intelligence research, analysis, and assessments in accordance with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.
  • Possess sufficient writing and communication skills to prepare and present reports, papers, proposals, briefings, and other documentation in both small and large group settings.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with SolidWorks, NX, Catia, or similar 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Professional experience in 3D CAD/CAE.
  • Ability to manage, manipulate, process, and analyze large data sets.
  • Strong technical writing and briefing skills.

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience with aerospace system design, layout, or systems engineering.
  • Experience with aerospace industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience with US Intelligence Community standards and procedures.
  • Experience with CAD tools for developing RF signature models (SolidWorks, CREO, NX, ModelMan, Rhino, Cubit, etc.) and corresponding file formats.
  • Experience with CAD tools for computational fluid dynamics mesh rendering.
  • Experience extracting detailed measurements from all-sources to include laser scan data and imagery to produce 3D CAD models and engineering drawings of various aerospace systems.
  • Experience leveraging engineering and design principles to reverse engineer foreign threat aerospace systems and subsystems to determine capabilities, characteristics, and vulnerabilities.

Education Requirements:  

  • BS in an Engineering discipline with 4+ yrs of related experience.

  • MS in an engineering discipline with 2+ years of related experience.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Active TS/SCI, (Desired).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
