Responsibilities:

As a Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) you will serve as a principal advisor on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of information systems under their purview.

  • Develop and maintain a formal IS security program and policies for their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Develop and oversee operational information systems security implementation policy and guidelines.
    • Ensure periodic testing is conducted to evaluate the security posture of IS by employing various intrusion/attack detection and monitoring tools.
  • Maintain a repository of all organizational or system-level cybersecurity-related documentation (including ATOs) for IS under their purview.
  • Coordinate IS security inspections, tests, and reviews.
  • Ensure proper measures are taken when an IS incident or vulnerability is discovered.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures.
  • Manage, maintain, and execute the information security continuous monitoring plan.
  • Ensure a record is maintained of all security-related vulnerabilities and ensure serious or unresolved violations are reported to the AO/DAO.
  • Assess changes to the system, its environment, and operational needs that could affect the security authorization

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years related experience
  • Prior performance in roles such as ISSO or ISSM
  • Must meet position certification requirements outlined in DOD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 or Information Manager Level 1 within 6 months of the date of hire
  • Must have working knowledge of DOD, National and applicable service and agency security policy, manuals and standards
  • Must have a CISSP, CISM or CISA Certification
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working with Special Access Programs

Education Requirements:

Bachelors degree 

Clearance Requirements:

Active TS/SCI (Cl polygraph highly desired)
