Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer - Aviation to support Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations (CBP AMO). You will conduct tests on programs to include manned and unmanned aircraft, aviation sensor and communication systems and coastal marine vessel programs.  This position supports remote work with travel to test sites within the continental United States.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer - Aviation, with Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) you will primarily be responsible for conducting tests on programs to include manned and unmanned aircraft, aviation sensor and communication systems and coastal marine vessel programs.  This position supports remote work with travel to test sites within the continental United States.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • You will conduct testiing support, as directed by the Government Program Manager that may include:
    • Test planning assistance.
    • Range coordination, execution, data collection and technical analysis.
    • Post-test reporting, documentation.
    • Draft briefings to the Government Program Manager of test results of ground and flight tests and evaluations of aircraft and aircraft systems and sensors.
  • When required, the Contractor shall be available to assist with interagency test and evaluation, and technical coordination on projects within DHS. 

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience supporting aircraft T&E.

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience in flight test of military and civil aircraft; experience with both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
  • Counter-UAS test experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Science or a related degree. 

Desired Certification Requirements:

  • Test Pilot School (long course) graduate.
  • Certification up to the Test Director level (either DoD or DHS)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Current Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.

  • Ability to pass CBP Background Investigation

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Travel Requirments:

  • Travel to test sites within the continental United States.
