Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Junior to Mid  level Software Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory/Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV's) as part of a team of software engineers dedicated to providing a “validated learning” environment for the next generation Space C2 Technology development. This is a full-time position located at Catalyst Campus in Colorado Springs, CO with opportunity to work a hybrid schedule or remotely.

Responsibilities:

As a Junior to Mid level Software Engineer with MTSI you will be part of the Defense Readiness Agile Gaming Ops Network (DRAGON) Army supporting the Joint Task Force Space Defense Commercial Operations (JCO) Cell in the development of software for both training and operations.  This is a full-time position located at Catalyst Campus in Colorado Springs, CO with opportunity to work a hybrid schedule or remotely. 

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to developing:

  • Developing backend API’s.

  • Fusing data from real-time data streams.

  • Creating ETL workflows.

  • Helping software providers onboard and integrate new capabilities into the architecture.

  • Applying agile methodologies to software development.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' relevant experience developing applications with an emphasis on back-end development and the ETL process.
  • Experience developing in Java or Python.
  • Ability to work efficiently on small, distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile principles.

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience with Containers (Docker, Docker Compose).
  • DevSecOps utilizing test-driven development in Java or Python.
  • Gitlab experience.
  • Kafka experience.
  • NiFi experience.
  • Spring Boot experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Computer Science or related field.

Clearance Requirements:

  • None to start, (Secret Eligible)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $90,000/year to $115,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
