The Lethality Program Management Engineer candidate will provide and direct the lethality Analysis and Testing in support of a BMDS Kill Vehicle development Program

  • Technical ability to review and produce Lethality Engineering documents. Regular and valuable interaction with the customer will include; emails, VTC and face-to-face meetings, status updates, TIMs, briefings and other contractual requirements.
  • Self-motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, technically advanced, team environment.
  • Provide coordination with DOE Labs, Industry and Impact Test Facilities for conducting Hydrocode analysis and phenomenology studies to address lethality M&S data gaps and lethality criteria development for a new KV System
  • Develop schedule and track tasking for product development across lethality analysis and test performers
  • Interface with KV program managers and Prime contractors to insure lethality activities are supporting KV product development
  • Utilize skills and experience to schedule meetings, provide meeting minutes, service action items and brief leadership.
  • Prepare technical and position papers, engineering briefs, and technical materials such as analysis, assessments, and reports.
  • Engage in KV lethality analysis of integrated capabilities and assist with supporting new concepts


  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or Physics/Math.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Candidate shall have a technical background and the ability to understand basic ballistic missile systems.
  • Experience with Lethality Assessments, Hit Assessment/Kill Assessment, and Consequences of Engagement/Consequence Management is preferred
  • A candidate with current Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) experience is a plus.

Highly Desirable Skills: 

  • Masters degree in STEM 
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience with current Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) characteristics, design, and performance
  • Experience with Threat and Lethality programs
  • Experience with Windows-based PC software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
