Information System Security Officer (ISSO) will provide expertise managing existing networks and creating diagrams to capture network configurations and data flows. Applicant will also support the engineering team by illustrating potential network configurations to include Tactical, National, SOCOM, and DISA infrastructure. Working with the US Government client, the candidate will assess products for reliability, perform analysis test cases and scenarios, deliver formal test reports and working within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) framework. Provides information security support to the client, focusing primarily on integration of new systems and network architectures. Reviews security documentation to evaluate the adequacy of the security plan for upgrading networks, ensuring security solutions are effective and meet all security requirements for processing classified information. Support client in performing penetration test, vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support assessment and authorization utilizing the federal RMF. Help prepare documents that inform the RMF process, such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports that intend to secure an Authority to Operate (ATO) for systems and software, as directed by the customer.

Responsibilities:

• Assist managing a RMF Accreditation and Authorization process (e.g. categorizing, control selection, implementation and assessment, and system hardening).
• Generate and maintain required Information System (IS) security documentation including SSPs, Information Assurance Standard Operating Procedures (IA SOP), Continuous Monitoring Plans, Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTM), Risk Assessments, Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), equipment specifications, practices, and procedures.
• Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures.
• Use RMF to obtain Interim Authorities to Test (IATT) and ATO on quick reaction ISR systems, delivering new capabilities to the warfighter.
• Construct and oversee the accreditation of ATO packages utilizing Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and Xacta.
• Provide technical advice to leadership and vendors, while acting as the sole subject matter expert in Cyber Security for the organization.
• Evaluate cyber threats and vulnerabilities to determine the need for supplementary safeguards (e.g. architecture, firewall, data flow, network access, etc.).
• Identify areas of concern regarding the effectiveness of cyber policies being used within the organization.
• Create and maintain organizational cyber security policies.
• Deliver vulnerability, risk assessment, resolution, and analysis reports for ISR systems.
• Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with SSP.
• Be knowledgeable of and comprehend customer Security Classification Guides (SCG) to determine classified system requirements.
• Ensure configuration management for security-relevant IS software, hardware and firmware is maintained and documented.

Qualifications:

• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certified (e.g. CompTIA Seucirty+)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field (or additional 4 years’ experience)
• Five (5) years of experience working in an IA-related field.
• Knowledge of federal security requirements and mandates (e.g., RMF, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), National Standards of Information Technology (NIST)).
• Knowledge of Linux operating system, including experience working with Linux/Unix Command Line Interface and using regular expression queries.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (client and server).
• Self-starter, able to multi-task and perform effectively in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service skills; being able to work with personnel across multiple disciplines of the organization
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
• Will require travel up to 15% of time within CONUS and OCONUS

Desired Qualifications:
• Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Management, Cyber Security or Information Assurance
• DoD 8570.01 IAM Level II Certified.
• Ten (15+) years of experience working in an IA-related field.
• Strong understanding of NSA, SOCOM, and Airforce networks and Cyber Security workflows.
• CompTIA CASP+ and Linux+ certifications.
• Knowledge of building Linus systems using Anaconda Kickstart and/or Debian/Ubuntu Preseed.
• Experience configuring Linux systems to meet DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, IT Management, Cybersecurity or Information Assurance.
• Experience using Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).

Clearance Requirements:
• Active TS/SCI clearance to start, with Counterintelligence Scope Poly eligibility.
• Current Counterintelligence Scope Poly, DESIRED.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
