MTSI Scholars Program
Jumpstart Your Career with a Paid, Hands-On Internship Experience
Every year, MTSI’s Scholars Program provides interns and co-op students with unparalleled opportunities to gain hands-on experience, develop critical skills, and make meaningful contributions to real-world projects. Whether it’s a 10–12-week summer internship or part-time co-op positions throughout the academic year, the program offers a dynamic platform for students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice. With approximately 80 interns and co-op students joining us each year, the Scholars Program is a cornerstone of MTSI’s commitment to shaping the future workforce.
As part of the Scholars Program, MTSI offers participants a strong pathway toward future career opportunities within the company. Scholars receive a customized training plan, structured networking opportunities, 1-on-1 sessions with leadership, and hands-on learning experiences. Each Scholar is also paired with a dedicated MTSI mentor to provide job shadowing, guidance, and support throughout the program.
Who Can Apply?
MTSI’s Scholars Program is open to eligible students who are:
- Rising juniors or seniors.
- Working toward a degree in a relevant field of study.
- US Citizens, since US Citizenship is required for most positions.
How to Apply
MTSI supports in-person, hybrid, and fully remote internship opportunities. Summer positions are typically posted at the start of the calendar year; however, opportunities may also be available year-round.
What to Expect
After selection, MTSI will develop a customized training plan tailored to your career growth and education.
- Customized Internship Plan: Receive hands-on training aligned with your skills and career goals.
- Networking & Mentorship: Connect with MTSI leaders and industry professionals throughout the program.
- Weekly Virtual Lunch & Learns: Join a 1-hour interactive session featuring MTSI engineers, project managers, and directors who share experiences and insights. Engage directly through Q&A.
- Scholars Program Wrap-Up Presentation: Showcase your summer achievements to senior leaders, directors, and supervisors during our end-of-program presentation series.
- Monthly Networking Socials: Participate in fun social events—Topgolf, bowling, axe throwing, escape rooms—with interns, co-ops, and young professionals.
Scholars COMPASS
As an MTSI Scholar, you can opt-in to COMPASS—which stands for Career Opportunities, Mentorship, and Professional Advisory Support System. This program connects interns with early-career MTSI professionals who provide support, guidance, and real-world insight through the summer program.
